Paul Katz, DO, DFASAM, FACA

Paul Katz, DO, brings a vast skill set to Chesapeake Wellness Center in Cecilton and Elkton, Maryland, helping families in Cecil, Kent, and Queen Anne’s counties receive the medical care they need. In addition to his experience and knowledge as a primary care physician, Dr. Paul Katz specializes in addiction medicine, helping patients take back control of their lives through tailored recovery programs.

To offer this comprehensive care, Dr. Paul Katz holds board certifications in Primary Care Medicine, Addiction Medicine, Osteopathy and Anesthesia. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Board of Addiction Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Anesthesiology.

Dr. Paul Katz began as a member of the military, and he was in active duty from 1962 until 1979, when he was honorably discharged as a Lieutenant Colonel. After obtaining his medical degree, Dr. Paul Katz completed his residency at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1993 and then worked as medical director and a primary care practitioner, as well as teaching faculty, at the same institution.

In 2000, Dr. Paul Katz established his practice in Cecilton to provide individualized care to each member of the family with a personable approach to medicine that emphasizes education and relationship-building. Chesapeake Wellness Center was established on that foundation and in January 2017, Dr. Paul Katz opened a second office in Elkton.

In addition to primary care and addiction medicine services, Dr. Paul Katz is a current Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration Certified Medical Examiner, which enables him to offer DOT and CDL physicals.

Patricia Powell, CFNP

Patricia Powell is a Family Nurse Practitioner, board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She graduated from Delaware State University with her BSN. She began her nursing career as a Registered Nurse in the hospital setting located in Northern New Jersey. She later moved to Delaware and continued her nursing career at Christiana Care Hospital where she gained most of her clinical experience on a Cardiac Care Step Down unit. She decided to further her nursing career after spending 20 years as a Registered Nurse. She obtained her Nurse Practitioner degree from Wilmington University and obtained her Nurse Practitioner licenses in 2013. She is the newest member at Chesapeake Wellness Center and she brings a friendly dynamic to our practice.

Donna Ditzel, Office Manager

Donna is the Office Manager at Chesapeake Wellness Center. She is a very important member of our team. She is the first person to greet you upon your arrival. Donna works diligently to take care of your scheduling needs, answer your phone calls, communicate with insurance companies, and many other daily responsibilities. Donna very effectively keeps the office running smoothly and will address any concerns you may have. Donna’s goal is to make your visit a pleasant experience each time you walk through the door.

Linda Katz, Practice Manager

Linda Katz is the Practice Manager of Chesapeake Wellness Center and the wife of Dr. Paul Katz. She has a friendly and energetic personality which helps create a welcoming atmosphere. Her contributions to the practice allow us to provide excellent medical care to our patients. Her hard work keeps the business running smoothly and effectively. Linda is great with organization and planning which is an important aspect of managing a growing medical practice. Being an integral part of the team, she is always available to help the staff complete tasks in a timely manner. Linda’s goal is to provide a business with outstanding medical care for the community.
